Frank Muennemann's Home Page
Frank is a highly experienced, hands-on RF Engineer with a 20-year
record leading projects from concepts to successful RF device
implementations. He has a wide range of skills across all phases of
RF design including specification analysis, schematic capture,
simulation, layout, environmental and process corner simulation,
debugging, characterization and test.
Frank's past assignments have included:
- Designing traveling-wave tubes (TWTs) and TWT amplfiers for
spacecraft and military communication applications.
- Designing RF "coils" (what goes on/around the patient) for medical MRI applications
- Writing system test, calibration and environmental evaluation
software for an MRI scanner.
- Designing cryostats for superconducting applications.
- Designing RFICs for wireless applications (GPS, cell-phone)
- Writing RF specifications, conformance documents and air
interface descriptions for 802.16e and 802.20
broadband wireless internet access systems.
- Board-level and system-level RF and transceivers designs for wireless base stations, handset devices and field-test systems
- Conducting field test measurements for 802.11 (Wi-Fi) and WCDMA/HSDPA systems.
Frank calls himself a generalist, who will start or adopt a project,
and see it through to completion. He will do whatever it takes to
maximize the project success; taking organizational as well as
hands-on roles within the project team. You can get some more detail
of Franks background from his resume, posted below.
